CUHK students are invited to join a pitching competition of CU-SuCCeSS. They are expected to propose a theme with creativity and innovation to create a character for the shop.
What is CUHK Student-run Coffee Shop Startup
Under CU-SuCCeSS, a student-run coffee shop, a pioneer at CUHK, will be set up on campus through the close collaboration between different units, including Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services (ORKTS) and Minor Programme in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EPIN) as a base for carrying out an experiential learning project for developing students’ practical skills in entrepreneurship, business operation and financial arrangement.
The student-run coffee shop, The Infinity Room, under the Cu-SuCCeSS programme, officially opened its doors on 13th September 2024!
The grand opening event was graced by university leaders and distinguished guests. Highlights of the day included live demonstrations of pour-over coffee and latte art by our talented student managers, as well as the cutting of a giant celebratory cake.
The Infinity Room aims to be more than just a coffee shop—it aspires to become a social-cultural hub for the University community. It is a welcoming space for students, alumni, and staff to connect, gather, and collaborate. Whether you're a coffee enthusiast or someone looking for inspiration, this café is the perfect spot. It also serves as a platform for students to showcase their talents and bring their creative ideas to life.

On 10th October 2024, CUHK students and alumni came together at The Infinity Room for an uplifting afternoon centered on dreams, social entrepreneurship, and connection.
The highlight of the event was a lively fireside chat with the café's co-founders, skillfully moderated by Ms. Elaine Tam. The co-founders shared their inspiring journey, underscoring the transformative power of social entrepreneurship and the pivotal role of community support. Flora Yau, one of the co-founders, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the crucial support provided by CUHK throughout their entrepreneurial journey.
The event ended with applause and excitement for the café's future, leaving attendees with a deeper appreciation for its mission.
The student-run coffee shop “The Infinity Room” began its trial operation on 24th June 2024, marking the beginning of an exciting journey under the CU-SuCCeSS programme. This dedicated team of students spent two semesters honing their skills in business management and creative development, culminating in the creation of this art-filled café.
On 28th June 2024, a special coffee-tasting event welcomed advisory team members and CUHK staff, who provided valuable feedback to help refine the café experience.
